Live Broadcast Scheme Design and Test for C-V2X Demonstration Areas

Unlike regular intelligent vehicles, V2X-oriented applications are triggered by OTA messages instead of on-road physical vehicles, while application response performance is influenced by the V2X modules permeability rate. C-V2X (Cellular V2X) demonstration areas could provide V2X application experience by roadside deployed equipment, such as roadside V2X node matrix. In this paper, a live broadcast system is designed for Yongchuan demonstration, Chongqing, China. The test interface, data exchange procedure, and corresponding messages are defined. To ensure the real-time feature of the live broadcast scene, a BP pipeline model is used to extract and predict vehicle trajectory information. A feedback adjustment process based on a dedicated time alignment algorithm is implemented to synchronize live broadcast data with the current timeline. On-road tests are done to verify the proposed systems validity. Test results show that the proposed live broadcast system could translate the real-time driving state of an on-road vehicle into OTA messages and trigger V2X-oriented application response correctly.
