Sensor based Metal Detector in Cloth Fabrication

Metal detection is a critical component of maintaining quality and safety standards in the textile sector. Metal fragments pose significant risks to fabric manufacturing equipment, such as cotton rollers, as well as to worker safety and the integrity of the finished product. Metal contaminants can inadvertently enter the manufacturing process and embed themselves in textiles or become trapped in clothing, leading to expensive equipment failures, defective products, and potential consumer risks. To mitigate these hazards and maintain manufacturing standards, a reliable metal detection system is essential. The proposed metal detection system incorporates a sensor positioned across the clothing, which utilizes a relay mechanism to abruptly halt the machine, activate a corresponding LED, and send a Wi-Fi notification to a mobile device when metal is detected. This enables workers to promptly remove the metal parts and inspect the affected clothing. After removing the metal, the machine can be restarted to resume operations. Beyond detecting metal contaminants, the system takes proactive measures to prevent potential harm or damage. By employing electromagnetic-based sensor modules, the system can identify approaching metal objects and initiate a relay mechanism to halt mechanical operations and alert workers. This proactive approach not only protects valuable tools and product quality but also emphasizes the commitment to a safe workplace and the well-being of staff members.
