Japan’s green new deal scenario for 2035 and 2050

This paper is a short summary of the recently published report in Japanese entitled “Green Transition 2035 – Economically rational scenario to achieve double 80% renewable electricity share and CO₂emission reductions in 2035” by the Researchers’ Group of Energy Transition for Future. The report provides concrete information on the ideal energy mix in Japan and numerical targets for greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions in 2035.
