Voice-Driven Prescription and Inventory Management System for Hospitals

With operational efficiency and patient safety at its core, there is an important need in this changing healthcare arena. This article reviews the advances and challenges regarding voice-activated systems for prescription and inventory management in a hospital setting. Traditionally, a lot of data entry was entered manually and subjected to human errors, making these healthcare workflows not very efficient. Recent studies show the promise of voice-based interfaces to address these issues by allowing healthcare professionals to manage tasks using verbal commands. The integration of such systems with Electronic Health Records (EHR) enables real-time updates, reducing cognitive load and improving patient care. Security and privacy considerations, including HIPAA compliance and audit trail mechanisms, are also important factors in the adoption of such systems. This review will address the role that AI can play in voice recognition sensitivity, the automation of inventory and prescription updates, thus turning this forward-looking, innovative study into a basis for inferring future probability in using AI-driven voice technology in healthcare, specifically towards improving efficiency, accuracy, and patient-centred care.
