AUTO-PACK: Autonomous Robot for Efficient Medical Logistics in Hospital

This research work focuses on the development of AUTO-PACK, an autonomous robot designed to deliver documents in controlled indoor environments. The robot obtained more than 98 percent success in following the path chosen with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), thus maintaining workable precision in localization and path tracing. By equipping the robot with ultrasonic sensors and combining AI for object recognition using YOLO, AUTO-PACK obtained a 96.5 percent success rate in obstacle avoidance. The efficient working is ensured through integration of dynamic task management and advanced path planning algorithms used frequently in such cases such as Dijkstra's. In the end, after two hundred trials, the robot has completed 97 percent of its missions while also working for about five hours consecutively on a single battery charge. It is acknowledged that this project brings out AUTO-PACK as the most affordable and dependable automation system for delivery of documents and potentially other logistic jobs in the urban and healthcare environment. The capability to provide reduced human intervention, cost of delivery, and the duration for a successful mission count AUTO-PACK among the few touted innovations with the target to fully take over the market of autonomous delivery systems.
