Implementation of an Automated Pilot Line for Smart Gown Production

TEXP@CT project is committed to the digital transformation of the textile and clothing sector by developing and adopting advanced technologies and innovative digital solutions. In this project, R&D on robotization and automation of textile processes seeks to create hybrid solutions that combine human operators, robots and industrial automation and promote the development of sophisticated and innovative industrial equipment. In this way, the implementation of an industrial pilot line for production of a Smart Gown with embedded heating systems is currently under progress, to reduce human intervention in the process, resulting in better reproducibility, a reduction in production time and lowering production costs. The implementation of this pilot line is based on a new industrial approach that includes automated systems for connection of heating/conductive yarns, as well as several validation steps for assuring the functionality of the heating system in the smart gown.
