A Miniaturized Microstrip Three-Way Equal Power Divider using Hybrid Lumped and Distributed Elements and Recombinant Topology

This paper presents a miniaturized three-stage, three-way Wilkinson-type power divider using a recombinant topology. Miniaturization has been achieved by substituting the quarter-wave microstrip lines with equivalent hybrid pi-networks, comprising of lumped inductors and capacitors realised by opencircuited transmission line stubs. The design has been done at 1 $\mathrm{G H z}$ for validation showing ${7 8. 3 6} \%$ reduction in size (by length). A low pass characteristic has also been observed due to the usage of the pi-network sections. Additionally, measured and simulated results of isolation, phase, return loss and insertion loss have been shown and a comparative analysis has been done.
