Internet of Things Based Automated Ceiling Fan Cleaning System

Ceiling fans are commonly utilized devices that must be cleaned regularly to maintain their effectiveness and keep the environment clean. However, cleaning by oneself can be difficult and lengthy, and sometimes it might be dangerous due to the height required. To deal with this issue, an “Automated Ceiling Fan Cleaning System” that streamlines and automates the cleaning procedure while remaining cost-effective. The objective of this technology is to reduce the effort and time required to clean ceiling fans while minimizing the risks associated with hand cleaning. The system combines electrical and mechanical components with IoT integration, allowing wireless control by using Wi-Fi technology. The cleaning brush assembly can safely clean the fan blades by incorporating a linear motion mechanism controlled by an ESP32 microprocessor that receives user commands via Wi-Fi. The system uses essential tools and technologies such as the L298N motor driver, a DC motor for rotating movement, and a cleaning brush to ensure efficient dust removal. Testing shows a $\mathbf{6 0 \%}$ reduction in cleaning time compared to manual approaches and a 30% increase in dust removal efficiency. This work contributes to the field of home automation by delivering a user-friendly, remote-controlled cleaning solution that improves user convenience and safety.
