Status of Industry 4.0 Technology Adoption & Enablers to Success

The world is digitally transforming around us, becoming more information-centric every day. However, U.S. manufacturers continue to face challenges with adopting technologies that will enable them to collect and analyze data in real-time. This paper will discuss the current adoption stages of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, automation, big data, sensors/internet of things (IoT), and predictive analytics. We will explore their applicability to the electronics industry and provide enablers and recommendations to support a successful digital transformation.
