A Practical Approach for Air-Conditioner Management System Toward Power Saving for Universities

Improving students experience is one of the important quality criteria that universities pay special attention to. Besides training-related issues, facility-related issues also play an important role in the student experience. Investment and facilities also need to take into account sustainable development and limit negative impacts on the environment. Based from that perspective, we realize that indoor systems at large-scale units such as universities need to be controlled automatically and self-adapt to conditions to save resources. In this study, we design and implement an air-conditioner management system at Thu Dau Mot University as a proof of concept and framework for wider application. Experimental results show that operations and energy are saved up to 45%.
