Scheduling of Mobile Rail Generators Capable of Uninterrupted Power Supply for Load Rescue

Mobile power sources based on trucks are unable to provide power support during transit for post-disaster distribution systems (DSs), leading to significant load interruptions. To address the problem, a new scheduling strategy of conceptual mobile rail generators (MRGs) capable of uninterrupted power supply for load restoration is proposed in this paper. First, a temporal-spatial energy continuous sharing model of MRGs which considers its adjustable power feedback to the catenary during movement, hydrogen refueling at the station and the mid-journey return behavior is presented. On this basis, the traction power system (TPS) integrating MRGs is developed as a dynamic energy channel between post-disaster islanded DSs, where the MRG's power feedback during movement is regulated in time to offset changes in catenary loss. Additionally, a load rescue strategy of the DS which dynamically selects balancing nodes is formulated. This scheduling model is solved by converting the MRG's real-time power feedback expression and TPS exchange power constraint related to variable electrical quantity into a fixed-impedance-based power equation, and a fixed-voltage-based power equation, respectively. Simulation studies on modified IEEE 33-node DS and IEEE 69-node DS demonstrate the proposed strategy could reduce the economic loss by at least 5.5%.
