Abstract:

This research introduces an underground drilling bot designed for efficient cable installation in complex subterranean environments. The system uses radar-acoustic sensing to map the subsurface and detect enormous obstacles. The bot then follows a path that minimises disruption while an advanced drilling technique known as adaptive resonance enhanced drilling is employed to overcome small obstructions with minimal delay. This novel method ensures precision and operational efficiency while reducing equipment damage. The technology can be deployed in all terrains and offers a versatile and reliable solution for modern underground cable installation.
