Research and Design of An Insulator Detection Robot with Surround View Function

In this study, a 360° surround inspection function for detecting glass insulators in overhead transmission lines has been proposed for an insulator inspection robot. Through a comparative analysis of the current state of insulator detection technology at home and abroad, the limitations in detection coverage of existing methods have been identified. Based on this, a robotic structure integrated with multiple clamping jaws and a precise locking mechanism has been designed. The structure is aimed at enhancing stability under complex installation conditions. The experimental results show that the robot is able to efficiently and accurately perform comprehensive defect detection on the insulator surface. Its broad application potential and significant academic value have been recognized.
