Layout of Power Network Topology Based on Improved Force-Directed Model

The topology diagram of the power network is an indispensable tool in power system planning and operation. Although traditional hand-drawn power network topology diagrams can depict the basic framework of the network, they struggle to meet actual needs, especially when emphasizing certain key nodes, making manual methods cumbersome. This paper, based on the principles of graph theory and force-directed layout algorithms, converts the layout problem of the network into a graphical display problem, further extending it to three dimensional space. By introducing the concept of node importance into the traditional force-directed layout algorithm, key nodes are assigned additional gravitational weights, bringing them closer to the center in the layout, highlighting their importance within the network. Additionally, three-dimensional spatial considerations are introduced, allowing the layout diagram to be rotated and viewed from fixed angles, enabling better observation of node details from specific perspectives. Through experiments on the IEEE 14-bus system, this method has proven effective in visualizing power network topology, particularly in highlighting key nodes and enhancing 3D visual effects.
