Soft GNSS Using RTL SDR

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are used for positioning and navigation. Conventional GNSS receivers, are more expensive and are less adaptable for experimental study. Software based approach for GNSS processing enhances the versatility and usability of navigation systems in various applications. In this paper RTL SDR has been used for software based GNSS (Soft GNSS) applications. Open Source GNSS software has been used to obtain precise tracking and signal capture. Through a series of tests, the accuracy and dependability of the soft GNSS solution has been compared to traditional GNSS receivers. The findings show that the RTL-SDR-based system offers a more versatile and configurable GNSS receiver.
