Communicating with External Software (Python, Networking, ZeroMQ, MQTT)

Summary

While GNU Radio provides a flexible signal processing framework for handling the lowest layers of a communication protocol, the combination with external tools might be desirable to benefit from the best features of all frameworks. In this chapter, we discuss how to stream the outputs of GNU Radio for analysis with external software and how to interact with the flowchart behavior through various network communication schemes.
