Design of Compact 4×4 MIMO Antenna for High-Speed Connectivity in the X-Band Applications

4×4 Multiple-input Multiple-output (MIMO) element antenna system operating at 8.56 GHz is designed and simulated in this research. Utilizing FR4 as the substrate material with a width of 0.8 mm and a size of 38×38 mm, the antenna design focuses on achieving high performance within compact form factors. The HFSS (High-Frequency Structure Simulator) software is employed for simulation studies, allowing thorough analysis of radiation patterns, impedance matching, and efficiency. Through careful optimization, the system aims to maximize spectral efficiency and reliability against multipath fading. The project explores potential applications of the MIMO antenna system in high-frequency communication scenarios such as 5G networks, satellite communication, and radar systems. Overall, this project contributes to the advancement of wireless communication technologies by offering insights into MIMO antenna design principles and optimization strategies, with the potential to enable high-speed data transmission and improved coverage in diverse deployment scenarios. Results from this study will help improve wireless communication technologies by providing a thorough knowledge of the principles and optimization methodologies for MIMO antenna design.
