Design and Development of Smart Cervical Support System

In the last few decades, it has been observed that accidental patients are getting more severe injuries while handling the injured person due to spinal/neck injuries or not enough emergency support at the spot. Thus, we designed a portable device to support the human cranial and neural system in the neck region, which includes the top vertebral bones and major nerves. To avoid damaging the major nerve, emergency support staff must handle the unconscious individual with extreme caution after they have been hurt. If it is injured, the individual may experience compression, laceration, or contusion of the spinal cord, which may result in a coma, paralysis, or long-term repercussions on the neurological system. This article provides the solutions and discusses the challenges of implementing the GPS-based emergency cervical support system that is capable of activating an airbag in life-threatening circumstances. The system is developed with the help of various sensors and a digital controller. Explaining the design steps and the assembly arrangement will help the neck area be restrained and keep it as straight as possible. Hence, that saves the injured person from menacing injuries.
