Security and Privacy Concerns in Big Data Analytics: An Empirical Study

Big data security and privacy is the major methodological concern in the e-commerce consumers. As per IDC report, it is estimated that by the year 2025, 175 zettabytes of data will be generated and major portion of this data will be produced by the e-commerce giants. In a country like India, which is the fifth largest economy in the world, the share of e-commerce is 58.97 billion USD in the economy. In the growing area of e-commerce, there is dire need to collect, clean, process, analyse, evaluate and publish Indian consumer's attitude regarding cyber security, privacy and compliance readiness. Therefore, in this article, an effort has been made to apply multi-criteria decision analysis along with Likert scale to accomplish the above said task. We are confident that this effort will be taken as an important exercise between e-commerce and Indian consumers, to measure the cyber security concerns. Thus, imparting significant insights for policy planners and decision makers.
