Analytical Investigation of Compact Square-Ring Antenna Printed on Anisotropic Substances

This paper presents the design and analysis of a square-ring compact microstrip antenna on a uniaxial anisotropic substrate. We explore the advantages of this design, focusing on its compact size and enhanced performance compared to traditional configurations. A modified cavity model is utilized for the analysis. The numerical data shows the primary attributes of the antenna, like its resonant frequency, we conduct a parametric study to analyze the effect of the key parameters, including substrate material and thickness, for improved resonant frequency. Our results demonstrate the potential of uniaxial anisotropic substrates in achieving higher performance for compact antennas.
