Process Parameters Optimization for 3D Printed Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA Composites

In the automotive industry, lightweight structures are increasingly incorporated to achieve weight reduction, which enhances component life and performance without compromising quality and durability. The industry continually seeks new lightweight materials that fulfill these requirements and are cost-effective. Additionally, the manufacturing process must be simple and accessible. Additive manufacturing allows manufacturers to produce easily customizable components, including lightweight automotive parts. Polylactic Acid (PLA) is a commonly used thermoplastic suitable for 3D printing. This study examines the mechanical properties of Carbon Fiber (CF) reinforced PLA composites produced using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and analyzes the comparative results determined by varying the printing parameters.
