Automated Seating Arrangement for Conducting Examination

A user-friendly automated application for seating arrangement that is a software solution for the simplification and optimization of seating allotment in an examination hall will be developed. This automatically determines the seating and simplifies the examination process and results in a reduction of administrative tangles. The system uses Express.js on the server and Multer to handle file uploads with administrators inputting data within two Excel files, one contains information about the capacities for halls and the other just the students. In this regard, the system develops a clear PDF report explaining details of the exam, while it explains which students are in that particular hall and the list of attendance. Generally, seating arrangements for an exam are usually highly laborious and time-consuming through manual handling by administrators. The system proposed relieves this burden with the efficient and accurate process of seating allocation. The automation approach does not only reduce the administrative burden brought about by manual allocation but also improves the transparency and fairness of the process. Flexibility and adaptability are also allowed.
