Enhancing Energy Sustainability: A Case Study of Grid Integration of Floating Solar Power with Existing Hydropower Plant in Myanmar

Enhancing energy sustainability is crucial for meeting growing electricity demand and transitioning to resilient power grids. Integrating Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) systems with existing hydroelectric plants offers a highly efficient solution using water reservoirs to increase renewable energy generation, stabilize grid systems, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As Myanmar relies heavily on hydropower for elec-tricity generation, energy supply becomes vulnerable during the peak summer months when water levels are low and demand is high. The paper investigates the system's efficiency, integration challenges, and the impact of FSPV on hydropower generation, aiming to optimize the integrated system's operation for im-proved grid stability and energy sustainability in Myanmar.
