A Novel Approach to Charging Infrastructure Management: Empowering Electric Mobility in India

The Electric Vehicle (EV) market in India is expanding, leading to a surge in the number of EVs across the country. Managing this influx of users within India's population presents a significant challenge. As a result, there is a need for an accessible charging infrastructure to support stakeholders such as Charging Point Operators (CPO), Distribution Companies (DISCOM) and EV owners. Alongside addressing this, it is crucial to optimize existing infrastructure components, develop techniques for power management and minimize energy wastage. This paper proposes the development of a one-fits all software that would allow EV drivers to locate and reserve slots at charging stations using their personal devices like mobile phones. By sharing their vehicle information like specifications and power requirements, with CPOs and Utility companies, efficient scheduling of power and its distribution can be facilitated. This approach aims to ensure the safety of grid integration and efficient crowd control at charging stations.
