The Smart Helmet System: Towards Providing Safer Construction Work Sites

Due to industrialization and the exponential increase in population, the demand for residential and commercial structures have considerably increased. However, during the process of developing these buildings, there are numerous risks/obstacles that confront/challenge the individuals working at the specified construction sites. The innovative features in the “Smart Helmet” essentially alleviates the disconcerting elements entailed during construction work, thus potentially providing a safer working environment. Moreover, the technology will allow the site admin to view all of the data for each worker utilizing wireless technologies. Subsequently, this data will include the real-time information that will provide the admin with the relevant details to confirm that each worker is safe and does not need assistance. Furthermore, the helmet contains features to identify the number of workers currently onsite and their relative positions. The helmet can provide an emergency service that will allow to locate the workers in danger and informing the admin immediately; thus, allowing the worker to be given necessary treatment. The helmet would provide other services for safety against working conditions, communication with the admin and power consumption notification.
