A Detachable Halved Tapered Slot Antenna for HF/VHF EMC Measurements

This work proposes an innovatively detachable halved tapered slot antenna (DHTSA) for EMC measurement. The antenna features detachable plates on the upper edge of the halved TSA, connected to the main plate with the removable bolt. This design endows the proposed antenna with detachability and adjustability in its lowest operating frequency. Specifically, an example with 5 levels of plates, each 50 cm high, is analyzed. During testing at frequencies above 65 MHz, only the main plate is retained, effectively reducing the high-frequency conductor loss and overall weight. For low-frequency tests, higher-level plates can be gradually installed according to the lowest frequency requirements until all 5-level plates are fully installed for 20 MHz testing. This design significantly enhances the flexibility and portability of the antenna in various EMC measurement scenarios.
