A Prototype of Project M.A.K.A.S.A. (Modeling Agricultural Knowledge with A.I. for Sustainable Agriculture): An Intelligent Information System

The agricultural community in Bohol, Philippines, encounters persistent challenges in harnessing technology to enhance farm productivity, particularly in the existing Agricultural Information Centers lacking localized data analytics. Project M.A.K.A.S.A. (Modeling Agricultural Knowledge with AI for Sustainable Agriculture) aims to address these gaps by developing an intelligent information system to support smallholder farmers. This study conceptualizes an intelligent agricultural information system and presents survey findings to inform its development. Feedback from stakeholders—including farmers, agricultural experts, and local representatives—guided the prototype’s design, ensuring it meets specific community needs. Initial findings indicate improvements in farmers’ decision-making and resource management, underscoring the potential of Project M.A.K.A.S.A. to foster sustainable agricultural practices in Bohol.
