Algorithms for Personalized Lighting Control Using Well-Being Data

The use of adaptive lighting systems, which are designed to target an individual's psychophysiological state, represents a promising avenue for enhancing employee health and well-being. Notwithstanding the significant advancements in our comprehension of the non-visual impacts of lighting on human, no algorithms have been devised for practical applications that utilize human state data. This longitudinal study was conducted over a period of eight months in the working polyclinic. Psychological surveys and biometric monitoring data were used in combination. Heart rates were considered for further integration into the control of lighting systems. The results demonstrated that heart rate correlate with human performance and can be utilized in the proposed lighting control algorithms.
