Minimization of Load Regulation in a Buck Converter Using Slope-Controlled Ripple Injection Method with Constant on- Time Control

In this paper, we propose an improvement in load regulation characteristics of a Buck Converter using Constant On Time (COT) control through slope-controlled ripple injection. The proposed method addresses the shortcomings of conventional ripple injection circuits, which typically emulate the waveform of the inductor current. By altering the slope of the ripple injected during the Toff period, it significantly enhances load regulation characteristics. Furthermore, the simplicity of the circuit design contributes to cost reduction by minimizing chip size. The synchronous step-down converter applying the proposed technique was designed using DB HiTek's $0.18\mu\mathrm{m}$ BCDMOS process, and the characteristics of the proposed technique were verified through simulation.
