The Influence of Array Electrode Shape on Air Plasma Generation Under Atmospheric Pressure and Emission Spectroscopy Analysis

With the research and application of low-temperature plasma technology for material surface modification and other areas under atmospheric pressure, achieving large-area, high-intensity, and high-stability plasma has become an urgent problem to solve. This paper employs a dielectric barrier discharge structure, using a single-tube jet electrode as the basic unit, and expands it into one-dimensional and two-dimensional large-area needle-ring array plasma generation devices. By altering the shape of the array electrodes, systematic optical diagnostics are conducted to measure experimental data such as voltage-current waveforms and particle emission spectra of the jet plasma, in order to study the discharge characteristics of array jet plasma. The results indicate that the designed devices can generate large-area plasma in atmospheric air with voltage amplitudes below 10 kV. Analysis of the spectral data reveals that increasing the input voltage enhances the emission intensity at various wavelengths to differing degrees, with the emission spectrum of the second positive band of nitrogen molecules showing the most pronounced variation with increasing voltage.
