Technology of Production of Radio-Transparent Ceramic Materials

The article presents the results of studies on the synthesis and production of radio-transparent ceramic materials based on the RO-Al2O3-SiO2 system. The developed ceramics are characterized by a high degree of sintering and strength at reduced firing temperatures by 150°C and energy-saving synthesis conditions. The technological parameters for the production of products of a simple shape by the method of semi-dry pressing on the basis of slawsonite ceramics and for the production of thin-walled products of complex configuration using slip casting for various types of monophase and polyphase ceramics have been determined. The expediency of using polyphase ceramics of celsian-willemite and slawsonite-willemite compositions to obtain products with the best level of dielectric characteristics, high heat resistance and working temperature up to 1100 °C has been established.
