Modeling of a Graphene Monolayer on Metal Substrate: Resonance Regimes

The interaction of electromagnetic field with a graphene layer with rough interface grown on a metal substrate is studied. Particular attention is devoted to the role of rough (periodic) boundary in shaping the scattered field. The correlation between changes in the scattered field and variations in graphene's chemical potential, excitation parameters, and thickness of graphene layer is revealed and analyzed. Methods to control this scattered field response electromagnetically are proposed. The findings have applications in graphene metamaterials and devices, monitoring setups for electron beam parameters, and quality control in the manufacture of gratings and coatings.
