Using Nanocomposite Materials to Strengthen Cylindrical Panels with Complex Base

This paper presents a brief overview of the research results on the effect of carbon nanotube reinforcement in functionally graded composites on the natural frequencies of cylindrical panels with a complex base. The modes of buckling for such panels under longitudinal and radial loading are demonstrated. The critical pressure values under such loading conditions are obtained. The research is conducted for five types of nanocomposites, which model one uniform and four gradient distributions of carbon nanotubes through the thickness of thin-walled structures. A mathematical model of the free vibrations of a nanocomposite cylindrical panel with a complex base in the form of two symmetrical rectangular cutouts on the sides is proposed. The case of a clamped panel is considered. The mathematical model is based on the use of the Rayleigh-Ritz method, the description of the displacement vector components based on Reddy's higher-order theory, and the application of the R-function method to describe the contour with rectangular cutouts on the cylindrical panel sides. The obtained results are can be used for studying the vibrations of nanocomposite cylindrical panels with a complex base under longitudinal and radial loading.
