AI-Enabled Autonomous Navigation Systems for Space Exploration

Intelligent autonomous navigation systems that are AI-enabled may be considered equal to great revolution in space exploration and should be given momentum because these systems are able to operate independently and also do what is expected of them at a particular time. This paper presents the design philosophy which is to construct such systems based on the integration of several sensors, the utilization of modern machine learning techniques, and the employment of strong path planning and hazard detection mechanism. Extensive simulations and testing help get a grip on the dramatic drops in performance and reliability of the spacecraft during struggle with the aggressive space environment. These technologies help navigate vessels more securely and economically and also enable new types of missions that otherwise would have been unfeasible. Thus, the future of this branch of science seems to be unlimited.
