Research and Analysis of Typical Safety Incidents in Hydrogen Systems

As global demand for clean energy continues to rise, hydrogen energy has garnered significant attention as an efficient and environmentally friendly energy carrier. However, due to the highly flammable and explosive nature of hydrogen, systems involving hydrogen face considerable safety risks throughout production, storage, transportation, and usage processes. This paper systematically investigates and analyzes recent typical hydrogen safety incidents, focusing on accidents caused by gas/liquid leaks, electrical equipment failures, environmental and operational changes, and fires. Through detailed case studies, the underlying causes of these incidents are uncovered, including design and construction flaws, operational and maintenance errors, and inadequate regulatory enforcement. Based on the lessons learned from these incidents, the paper proposes corresponding preventive measures and recommendations, aiming to provide theoretical foundations and practical guidance for the safe design, standardized operation, and effective regulation of hydrogen systems, thereby promoting the safe and sustainable development of hydrogen technology.
