Intel’s Affordable Industrial Internet of Things(IoT) for Equipment Predictive Maintenance

In today’s rapidly evolving industrial landscape, predictive maintenance (PdM) has emerged as critical strategy to minimize downtime, reduce cost and avoid quality excursion. Intel has been using a standardized Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure in Intel’s Assembly test and fabrication facilities (ATM & Fab) for several years. Most of the legacy factory equipment wasn’t built with the digital sensors, so it is does not generate useful equipment data log to monitor tool health condition. This abstract present a comprehensive overview of how the internet of things (IoT)is revolutionizing the predictive maintenance practices across Intel factories.This paper describes Intel IoT infrastructure and the central IoT dashboard including data acquisition, data transmission, Cloud MQTT broker, and data analytics. It also discusses the integration of advance analytics such as machine learning and big data analytics, can be a powerful tool to help us better diagnose and perform predictive maintenance.
