Reflection Support Function in a Metaverse-Based Evacuation Training System

Disaster preparedness is crucial, and evacuation training plays a vital role in it. Recently, the metaverse, which is social virtual reality, has been expanding. A prototype of an evacuation training system based on the metaverse has been developed, offering a three-dimensional virtual world. In this system, an earthquake strikes suddenly, prompting users to seek safe places for evacuation. These users can be regarded as participants in the evacuation training. A reflection support function is being implemented that will allow participants to review their evacuation behaviors by replaying them in both first- and third-person views. A preliminary comparative experiment revealed that this function can support reflection regardless of the first- or third-person view.
