Simulation of NoC Communication Structures Performance for Self-Similar Traffic

The article is devoted to studying the performance of NoC (Network on Chip) communication structures for self-similar traffic. The work analyzes key components of the NoC architecture, such as traffic patterns, network topologies, and spatial distribution of traffic between network cores. The performance metrics considered are latency and network throughput. To model the operation of the communication environment, standard types of traffic distribution in the space are used: random, transposed, bit-reversal, butterfly. Currently, popular simulators such as gem5, OMNeT++ and Noxim and a number of others are used to simulate the operation of NoC. Based on the obtained data from simulation in the Noxim simulator, the influence of self-similar traffic on key NoC performance parameters is analyzed.
