Simulation Study on Signal Integrity of Nuclear Safety DCS Main Control Module

In response to the problem of difficulty in quickly and effectively evaluating the signal transmission quality of high-speed serial communication hardware PCB design in the hardware design stage of nuclear safety DCS main control module, this study proposes a method of establishing a complete signal simulation using the Tx-Diff and Rx-Diff models of ADS simulation software. The simulation accuracy is improved by optimizing the differences between PCB design and board factory production, increasing the location of ports to extract S parameters, and adding crosstalk and signal jitter factors to the simulation schematic. Then, frequency domain simulation is carried out to obtain the eye diagram of high-speed serial communication wiring. The research results show that the eye height of the conventional simulated eye diagram is 392mV and the eye width is 175 ps. The eye height of the simulated eye diagram in this paper is 346 mV and the eye width is 143 ps. The eye height measured by a professional laboratory is 321.271 mV and the eye width is 109.016 ps. The simulation results are in good agreement with the measured results, and both are far greater than the PCIE 2.0 specification and the receiver chip judgment standard of eye height greater than 110mV and minimum eye width greater than 0.3U1 (60 ps). Therefore, the signal integrity simulation method established in this study can be used to evaluate the signal transmission quality of high-speed serial communication hardware PCB design and improve the reliability of hardware PCB design.
