Method for Establishing a North Reference for Azimuth Extraction Devices

The azimuth extraction device, a multi-point positioning and aiming equipment, calculates the relative orientation of the device by measuring the coordinates of marked points with a total station. It establishes a north reference using dual-satellite positioning antenna orientation technology to determine the north orientation of the device, achieving precise aiming^[1]. This paper first introduces the scheme for extracting the axis of the azimuth extraction device and establishes measurement targets parallel to the axis. It elaborates on the technology of using a total station to measure coordinates for calculating relative orientation and using dual-satellite positioning to establish a north reference. The system measurement error of the device is analyzed, and the measurement accuracy is verified. Simulation tests show that the proposed measurement system construction method meets the precise aiming requirements of the azimuth extraction device, with an azimuth accuracy better than 43″ and an elevation accuracy better than 16.6″.
