A New Design Of High Frequency Current Sensor Based on Degaussing Technology

The traditional high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) for partial discharge high frequency current detection is installed on the ground side, it is not suitable for the installation on the transmission side. There are problems such as narrow bandwidth and low sensitivity. Especially, there also exists problem of saturation inside iron core caused by the large operating current when used on the transmission side. In this paper, a new type of degauss high frequency current transformer (DHFCT) design is proposed, which adopts degaussing technology to improve sensitivity of high-frequency signal. The DHFCT can detect mA level high frequency current signal under the large operating current. In the paper, the theoretical analysis of the DHFCT degaussing technology is carried out firstly. Secondly, the transmission relationship at different frequencies is given. Finally, the performance of DHFCT is suitable for engineering application verified by the prototype test.
