Reliability Study of Landing Light System for Civil Aircraft

The landing light system of civil transport aircraft is mainly used to provide ground reference information during final approach, landing, rolling, taxiing, turning, and takeoff, and to illuminate any major obstacles on the aircraft's approach glide path or runway at night. With the rapid development of light source technology, aircraft landing light systems are undergoing a technological revolution. LED lighting has gradually become the mainstream choice for aircraft landing lighting due to its high brightness, low power consumption, and long lifespan. This study followed the safety assessment method of SAE ARP 4761 and conducted a comprehensive study on the design, validation, and optimization of aircraft landing light systems. The research results indicate that by adopting advanced LED technology and reliability analysis methods, the reliability and safety of aircraft landing light systems can be significantly improved, providing new perspectives and methods for the design and maintenance of future civil aircraft landing light systems.
