Research on comprehensive performance test method of automotive DAB terminals

DAB, or Digital Audio Broadcasting, is a digital radio technology capable of transmitting high-quality audio signals to automotive systems. Since the beginning of 2024, it has become a mandatory test requirement for vehicles exported to European and Middle Eastern countries. China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI) has taken the lead in establishing the capability to evaluate DAB performance and functionality, becoming the only CNAS-authorized testing institution for DAB regulatory standards in China. In addition to using Audio Communication Tester SET (ACTS) to analyze the performance of component-level DAB DUTs (Devices Under Test), CAERI has also simulated the functionality of vehicle-level DAB DUTs in the laboratory using several ACTS with Radio Frequency Channel Emulator (RFCE). CAERI has developed a comprehensive performance testing methodology of automotive DAB terminals that covers both component and vehicle levels, and successfully completed multiple tasks for automotive enterprises.
