The Internet of Things and Its Impact on EV Charging Stations

In order to meet the goals of net-zero emissions and global decarbonization, there is a pressing need for a shift towards greener energy sources as a worldwide phenomenon. The worldwide mobility industry, which relies heavily on fossil fuels, is an ideal target for such efforts as it is accountable for 37% of the most current greenhouse gas emissions. Because of this, the adoption of battery-powered vehicles has speed up on a global scale, which is great news for the environment and efficiency in transportation. In spite of this expansion, there are still significant restrictions in electric vehicle charging infrastructure among buyers of electric vehicles. The resolution of this barrier necessitates the use of methodical measures in order to guarantee smooth operation and integration with the current transportation networks. This research reviews the existing literature to get a better understanding of the interrelationship between the Internet of Things (IoT) and the issues that are associated with electric vehicle (EV) public charging. Additionally, the study highlights the influence that the IoT has on the user experience. The research shows that the Internet of Things IoT may be a strong tool for improving public policy, but its innovative nature faces developmental challenges due to existing government regulations, which might put off potential investors. Therefore, lawmakers should think about reviewing existing regulations to see if they are appropriate for electric vehicle and Internet of Things acceptance, so they don’t act as unintentional roadblocks.
