Smart Level Notifier for Vending Machines

Vending machines have evolved into widespread pillars of convenience, offering more than just a quick snack or refreshing drink. However, stock outs can disrupt both the customer experience and operational efficiency. This study introduces an innovative, real-time inventory management system that utilizes wireless sensor networks. The system features a compact sensor unit housed in a cylindrical casing, equipped with LIDAR technology to precisely measure both solid and liquid levels. The unit transmits data using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to a master unit connected to a cloud platform, allowing for real-time stock monitoring. This innovative, low-power design reduces the need for manual intervention and seamlessly integrates with existing machines. The Bluetooth module includes a low-power sleep mode for efficient power management, and the system's rechargeable capability further reduces downtime. By incorporating these features, our cost-effective and scalable solution optimizes refilling schedules, enhances operational efficiency, and boosts customer satisfaction.
