Advanced Prosthetic Arm: Integrating Flex Sensors, EMG, and Voice-Controlled Bluetooth for Enhanced Features

A prosthetic robotic hand has become essential for hand amputee’s person who lost their hand due in an accident, medical issues and disability, in space missions, nuclear power plants, submarines where humans are unable to use hand directly. Therefore, controlling prosthetic robotic hand becomes one of the challenging research tasks. In this paper, three different techniques are developed to control robotic hand. The first technique focuses on developing a lightweight prosthetic robotic hand with flex sensors used as a control element for arm movement. After that, electromyography (EMG) based sensors is used to control prosthetic arms. This means users may operate the arm while attaching the EMG sensors to their muscles, and it looks more natural. In the third technique, Bluetooth module is attached to the prosthetic arms to provide voice control. This means users may automatically operate the prosthetic robotic arm with an Android application. In this paper, the hardware implementation of the prosthetic robotic hand is given and these integrations will significantly impact prosthetic robotic technologies in future.
