Design of Four Channels Waveform Generator Based on DDS

Direct digital frequency synthesis technology(DDS) has been developed for more than 50 years. It has been widely used in radar, communication, electronic countermeasures and other fields, because of its high frequency resolution, fast frequency conversion speed, continuous phase during frequency conversion, low output phase noise and the ability to generate arbitrary waveform. In this paper, we design a four channels waveform generator based on DDS for the current multi-source and multi array radar equipment, which can generate point frequency, LFM, NLFM and other signals; Within 430±100MHz bandwidth, its spurious suppression performance is better than - 70dBc, and the four channels can be switched freely to work synchronously or independently by FPGA. It is applicable to radar equipment with high requirements for waveform synchronization, such as multiple-input multiple-output radar, frequency diversity radar, multi-function radar, etc.
