Classification of News Paper Images Using Computer Aided Automated Methodologies

In this paper, the text contents in the newspaper image have been categorized into various types using computer aided methodologies. This paper proposes Crime Scene (CS) image detection system in Newspaper in an automated methodology with the aid of the artificial intelligence approach. The preprocessing has been used to suppress the noise and OCR is used for the conversion of image into words. The image with text words have been transformed using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and the output of DWT has been fed into the classifier to obtain the classification results. The results of this CS image detection method have been compared with other traditional methods in this paper.
