Electromotive Force Calculation and Analysis of an Inductive Displacement Sensor Based on ANSYS Maxwell

In order to improve the performance of the inductive displacement sensor, ANSYS Maxwell was used to compute and analyze the induced EMF(electromotive force) produced by the sensor in this paper. First, the theoretical analysis and simulation models of the inductive displacement sensor which mainly includes permanent magnet and PCB induction coil were established. Then, the model settings in ANSYS Maxwell for studying the magnitude and characteristics of the induced EMF were carried out, and the simulation results were compared with the analytical calculation results. Lastly, it was investigated how important parameters affected the mapping relationship between the change in position to be measured and the induced EMF. The findings demonstrate that the size and composition of the permanent magnet, the length of the air gap, the coil's form and number of turns, and other parameters have a significant impact on the induced EMF produced by the sensor. Furthermore, the results of the analytical calculations and the simulation results are essentially in agreement, demonstrating the accuracy of the suggested approach.
