Detection of Floating Waste on Water Bodies

This paper outlines the general approach used for detection and monitoring of aqua-floating waste using satellite imagery and aerial photography from a drone, in-situ sensors and machine learning algorithms. Hence, by specifying the waste types and increasing the accuracy in wastes identification, the cleaner aquatic environments and the better waste management based on the system’s scalability and applicability to the global scale will be contributed.
